How to Teach a Dog to Stay in the Yard

Knowing how to teach a dog to stay in the yard is important for your dog’s safety and your own peace of mind.  At least it is for me.

I enjoy working in the yard.  I like to garden.  So I spend a lot of time in my flower and vegetable gardens.

I have some flower gardens in the front yard and I like to have my little guy with me.  But it is time consuming to keep watching him.  How to Teach a Dog to Stay in the Yard

One outside chore I do not like is raking leaves.  Since we have several trees in the front yard, I am forced to do a lot of raking there.

Romeo loves to jump in a pile of leaves.  I wish I had as much fun as he does.

In order for me to concentrate on the work at hand, I have trained him to stay in the yard.  I don’t completely ignore him.  But I am confident he will not go out into the street.

The  video in this post does a great job of demonstrating how to teach a dog to stay in the yard.  It is on YouTube.  The post is on the blog,  TheBestDogTrainingVideos.com.  It is entitled “How Important is Teaching a Dog to Stay in the Yard?”  I encourage you to watch it.
