How to keep dogs healthy? I think almost all of us want what is best for our dogs. It is true that we invest money in our pets. This includes the cost of acquiring our dog plus the cost of veterinarian bills for regular office visits and shots.
There are many reasons why we are so fond of our dogs. Dogs are so lovable and give us unconditional love. We know that we must be knowledgeable in the care of our pets and all dog health issues.
We know that the health issues our dogs face are very similar to our own. We must feed the best quality dog food and treats. So we must provide our dogs a healthy diet, just like we need ourselves.
You and I need exercise to stay healthy. Dogs are no different. This exercise can be in the form of playing fetch with our dog for a few minutes in our backyard. Or it could be a brisk walk in the neighborhood.
If we don’t give our dogs a healthy diet or regular exercise, it can be fatal to our dog. Unfortunately, we may not see the deterioration in our dogs’ health until it is too late.
I read an article on the topic of how to keep dogs healthy. The article is called “Keep Your Dog Healthy.”
Here is a brief quote from the article:
All dogs need exercise as a part of a healthy life. Some smaller breeds of dog are able to exercise indoors and therefore require little active participation. Other breeds may need special attention. If you just let your dog go outside for a while, there’s a good chance that he’ll just find a nice shady spot, like under a tree, and lie down, not getting any exercise at all.. In order to make sure your canine friend gets enough exercise, it’s a good idea to actively participate. Playing catch for 15 or 20 minutes a day or going for a walk with your dog are great ideas.
A good diet is as important for proper health, energy levels and attitude as the same thing is for people. A bad diet can be fatal for dogs, so a serious approach to dietary habits is important. Dry dog food tends to be the better options over wet brands. Canned dog food is generally not as nutritious as dry food, and it can cause dental and dietary problems. Don’t forget that all animals need access to clean water at all times. There are some things that are poisonous to dogs, including some human food and plants. Make sure you dog doesn’t eat oleander, chocolate, raisins, coffee, mushrooms or raw meat.
The complete article can be read here. I suggest that you read the entire article. The author does a great job of pointing out ways on how to keep our dogs healthy.
Regular visits to the vet are important. I know that checkups can be expensive. But in the long run, it is far cheaper to detect a disease before it develops in our dogs.
