How to keep a Dog off Furniture

Do you know how to keep a dog off furniture?

Some dog owners believe very strongly that dogs do not belong on furniture, even a bed.  If that is what you are looking for in this video, I will post another video in the next few days that will help you in this area.

Many dog owners don’t mind if their dog gets on the couch with them.  In fact they may encourage it.  Others allow their dogs to sleep with them, especially if they have a small  dog.

I must say that I am in the category of those people who encourage their dogs to be with them on the couch or bed.

My dog is small and absolutely knows his place.  If I am working on the couch, he knows he is not to interfere with the papers I am working on.

My dog does sleep on our bed.  But he sleeps at the bottom of the bed.  He doesn’t bother us at all.  In fact, we don’t even know he is there.  He never bothers us at night.

The bottom line is that your dog must know who is in control.  You are in control.

This video discusses how to keep a dog off furniture:

The trainer, Eric Letendre,  is just like me.  He doesn’t care if his dogs get on his furniture.  He just wants them to know that he is in charge.  Thanks for watching.
